About this artwork
This is the second family paper quilt I have done in a series that might include up to five pieces. This quilt’s design is based on my Great Grandma Bebout’s (my Grandma’s Mom) nine-block quilt made around 1900. The content for the quilt are the letters and cards that I received from age 9-18. Each 12x12” large square is based on a significant person in my life while growing up. Each nine-block square is based on a group of people or an event in my life, like my 13th birthday and high school graduation. The center square shows the nine addresses that I lived at in the first 18 years of my life.
