sinking

About this artwork

In my painting, "sinking", I painted myself in a hospital gown sinking in water, surrounded by all the injection needles, medication bottles, and hospital arm bands from the T-VEC injections. My wound is exposed with syringes still stuck into my flesh. Bubbles pour out of my mouth as I lose the last of my breath. My husband and three sons are pictured above me, watching as I sink, unable to help.
