Angels Landing

Angel's Landing is an iconic rock formation in Zion National Park in Southern Utah, near St. George.  This place is simply breathtaking.  Indeed, you have to see the colors to believe them.  One can almost imagine ancient giants stacking layer cakes of stone in shades of burnt umber, burnt sienna, cadmium orange, naples yellow and so many other colors.  The Virgin River winds through the valley floor, catching all the reflections,  From sunrise and throughout the day to sunset, the sun plays upon these rocks and put on a constant show.  I first visited this place back in 1976 with my family.  It was not crowded then and we could drive our motor home right up to just about any spot and camp.  I was somewhat impressed, but anxious to move on.  Fast forward to the Fall of 2023 and it was very crowded, but thoroughly awe inspiring.  This time, I had a much greater appreciation for Zion's beauty.
