A Fruity Friend

About this artwork

A purple and orange fruit bat dangling from a tree munches on a string of oranges hanging from a branch, surrounded by lush green foliage. I wanted to paint a bat, because it was October, but it was also still reaching 100+ degrees here in Phoenix, so it wasn't quite autumn yet. I also wanted to continue working with false- and exaggerated-color palettes. So he's not too spooky, just fruity. Painted in 2026 with acrylic paint markers on a 10" x 10" gallery-wrapped canvas
