About this artwork
The letters in these images were sent from the War Relocation Authority camps by Japanese Americans who had been illegally incarcerated during WW2. These individuals sent mail order requests to a business, T.K. Pharmacy, which was owned by my uncles. The letters were hidden in a wall for almost 70 years and recovered by chance. This is printed with pigmented inks on archival rag paper.
