The first part of my titles are chosen to reflect the mystery surrounding that image’s letter. I only speak a tiny bit of Japanese. Growing up, that meant that my immigrant grandparents’ experiences were only described through my parents. Additionally, it’s unknown how or why the T.K. Pharmacy letters were carefully hidden in a wall. My work also acknowledges my community's experiences with the once-incarcerated ancestors refusing to speak about their lives being disrupted and forced behind barbed wire.
