Le Chat Noir is a whimsical nod to the celebrated “Tournée du Chat Noir.” It was created by Théophile Alexandre Steinlen (1859-1923). He was an artist and resident of the vibrant Montmartre art scene in Paris. Cats were a true and undying passion of his. This wall sculpture from my Earth Elements series features a handmade substrate and metal mosaic niches painted in Molten Metallic Gold. Each niche contains a black cat button, colored natural stone fragments, and semiprecious polished tourmaline fragments.
