Grounded Radiance pairs the steadying presence of Polychrome Jasper (also known as Desert Jasper) with the quiet glow of copper and carnelian. Carnelian is a semiprecious gemstone celebrated throughout history as a symbol of strength, warmth, creativity, and courage. The work suggests balance between earth’s grounding weight and the inner light that rises from within, a reminder that strength and radiance are not opposites, but companions. Polychrome Jasper, is known for its stabilizing and nurturing qualities. Eight surrounding mosaic niches hold fragments of carnelian, each crowned with metal forms, echoing the earth’s quiet strength. Painted in molten copper tones, the work radiates warmth while inviting a sense of grounding and balance. This wall sculpture was created on a handmade substrate.
