After working for many years in these fields, in 2012 she transitioned to pursue her true passion in art. Inspired by nature, Dee creates a modern-day alchemy in each of her Art Collections. She brings together color, texture, space, and light, conveying her love of the natural world. She creates her Contemporary Abstract Mosaic and Mixed Media Artworks under the business name of “Black Cat Mosaics. Dee has refined her artistic style through intensive self-study and training with renowned mosaic artists in the U.S. and Europe. With a diverse portfolio including Color Field, Earth Elements, and Illuminated Shards Collections, Dee enjoys exhibiting her 2-D and 3-D work in local, national, and international juried group exhibitions. Dee has enjoyed opportunities as a Visiting Artist in Dual & Solo Exhibitions in both the Eastern U.S. and the Southwestern U.S. Over the years, she has been an active member of art organizations and has served as a mentor for beginning artists. Dee lives in Tucson, where she creates her distinctive artworks in her home studio, surrounded by the Sonoran Desert flora and fauna, and appreciating the unobstructed views of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
