About this artwork
Before the plethora of strident graffiti walls there was the Vienese artist/architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser; influenced by Gaudi: biomorphic forms and use of tile. He was fascinated with spirals and called his theory of art "transautomatism" which focused on viewer experience as opposed to the artist. In this respect I am of the same mindset. Interestingly, I am not a "car person" even though vehicle is always a point of interest in every Virtual Garage artwork due to my interest in exterior sculptural aspects. My use of decorative "border"invites a viewer to stay awhile rather than rushing off from one to another...expanding each's territory. In this piece I included what I take to be a Main Coon Cat by the artist.
