A smoky, ethereal background in shades of black and grey sets the stage, accented by white dashed lines resembling sound waves and a bold red line. In the foreground, bubbles of all sizes, some with brilliant flashes of red, float among black and white lines, dots, and splashes of color. Thin branches of ocotillo with red blooms blend with the geometric patterns, creating a dynamic, multi-dimensional masterpiece that invites viewers to explore and discover something new with every glance.

Her artistic journey oscillates between the structured realm of confined geometric shapes, exuding a serious intensity, and the whimsical, dreamy chaos found in undefined spaces. Drawn to the allure of patterns, she incorporates them extensively into her creations. Although she initially pursued a double major in art, focusing on painting, and theoretical mathematics, her early professional path led her into the field of computers. It was not until her relocation to Arizona in 2000 that she experienced a resurgence of artistic inspiration. This shift marked the beginning of a multifaceted exploration, embracing various techniques and mediums, including stained glass, fused glass, and jewelry design. In 2008, she discovered the art of batik, which led to an extensive portfolio of works involving dyes and wax. Integrating her technical background with her artistic endeavors, she ventured into digital art, which has since become her primary creative focus. Despite this, she occasionally revisits acrylic painting and continuously pushes her boundaries by experimenting with new techniques and art forms, participating in art classes and workshops. Valerie's commitment to artistic exploration extends beyond personal expression; she finds joy in guiding others through the discovery process. This passion is reflected in the workshops she leads, where she facilitates exploration in batik on non-traditional surfaces and teaches various jewelry-making techniques.
