Ellen is a professional dance artist with roots in NYC, currently based in Phoenix. She’s performed in esteemed venues throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, and has worked for artists including Janice Rosario, Bryn Cohn, Yoshito Sakuraba (Abarukas), Dante Brown (Warehouse Dance)…Ellen is a professional dance artist with roots in NYC, currently based in Phoenix. She’s performed in esteemed venues throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, and has worked for artists including Janice Rosario, Bryn Cohn, Yoshito Sakuraba (Abarukas), Dante Brown (Warehouse Dance), Mathew James (Urban Tribe Co.), Luke Murphy (Attic Projects), and more. Ellen has been a world-touring cast member of Israeli choreographer Nadine Bommer's "INVISI'ball" since 2015. She is a certified instructor of Nadine's renowned movement method, Kinetica, which she taught to professional dance artists from around the world while touring with the primary company in Israel for two years. Ellen has fulfilled many residencies and has taught master classes to universities and studios in 11 states. Her NYC-founded contemporary dance company; DEPTH, has been commissioned to present work in venues in New York City (Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, Dixon Place, Peridance Salvatore Capezio Theater), AZ, TX, NC, VA, Boston, Atlanta, Berlin (Germany) and Tel Aviv (Israel). Ellen's work has been described as "hauntingly beautiful" and "captivatingly chilling" [BWW Reviews] with "stunning and economical" partnering [The Dance Enthusiast]. DEPTH has collaborated on two dance films, one of which has been awarded Audience Favorite at three different festivals throughout the U.S. Since returning to America in 2022, Ellen received nueBOX's 6-month StudioLAB Residency and is now a Permanent Artist In Residence there. She has presented work at local venues including Phoenix Center for the Arts, Tempe Center for the Arts, and Mesa Arts Center, and has performed for local choreographers including Halley Willcox (Methods of Madness Dance Theater), Sam Arrow, Carley Conder, and more. Ellen continues to create, present and perform throughout the Valley as a freelance artist. She is furthering her career and giving back to the community by means of producing arts events and performing arts programming via DEPTH and her job with the City of Tempe.
