John Kaskela

I am a Phoenix based mixed media artist exploring themes of surrealism, fantasy, cryptids, ancient civilizations, and more. I thrive on exploring various mediums, and ideas. Mostly self-taught, Ive always enjoyed expanding my skills. Currently, I am exploring creating possible cryptids- legendary, unverified, or mythical creatures. I wants the viewer to wonder if the piece could be based on an actual living or extinct creature. I also like creating planters and sculptures that encompass botanical, architectural, surreal, and fantasy themes. For markets, I keep my works in categories to help buyers zero in on that "gotta have it" piece. I also have small banner boards, behind my tables, showing my notes, sketches and how I imagine a piece into a final artwork. This works very well for drawing people in to my world.
