About the artist

Jason Osicka

Jason Osicka is an Arizona-based artist who brings over two decades of engineering precision and process innovation to the traditional art form of automotive lowrider painting. A transplant to Arizona’s North Valley since fifth grade, a US Navy veteran, and Process Engineer, Jason Osicka spent 23 years in the food and beverage industry developing products and perfecting processes—skills that now inform every brushstroke. Beginning his artistic journey in January 2025 with the practical goal of learning to paint a motorcycle helmet, Jason Osicka was drawn to the labor-intensive techniques of Chicano lowrider art. This deeply rooted Southwestern tradition, he believes, remains globally underrated despite its limitless creative possibilities and departure from conventional artistic boundaries. Working without formal art education, Jason Osicka applies the same methodical approach that defined his engineering career to his canvases. Each piece requires 15+ layers of paint, following the exacting standards used on classic collectible cars. His work celebrates the beauty found in the ordinary—technical precision, geometric patterns, and the intersection of function and form. Jason Osicka’s one-of-a-kind pieces are designed to transition seamlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces, reflecting his belief that art should be both durable and accessible. Through his work, he honors the rich tradition of hand crafting art while bringing his unique perspective as an engineer and longtime Arizona resident to this distinctive American art form.
