Halley Willcox

Halley Willcox [BFA, MFA] is a dance artist, educator, questioner, and the director of Methods of Madness Dance Theater (MMDT). Under her leadership, MMDT tours original evening-length works, develops community programming and workshops. Halley is the founder and director of the AZ Dance Film Fest and serves on the dance faculty at both Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University. At ASU, she co-teaches and collaborates with Liz Lerman on the development of the Atlas of Creative Tools, a multidisciplinary creativity framework. Since 2019, Halley has been a Permanent Artist-in-Residence at [nueBOX], supporting artists across disciplines. Her creative work has been shaped by residencies such as the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Keshet Makers Space, Tempe Arts and Culture, Sojourn Theater, Aeris Körper, Charlotte Street and Synthesis ASU. Her work has been presented throughout the Southwest and Midwest, as well as in New York City, Canada, Mexico, and Spain. Halley is currently developing her newest evening-length work, Glitter & Doom, which will be presented in 2026 at the West Theater in Missoula, the Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, NYC, and Stage West at the Herberger Theater Center.
