About the artist

I have what I call "popcorn brain" , a syndrome that isn't fatal, but life-altering. Never at a loss for inspiration as people and language are always giving me ideas to expand upon. I bounce around some with mediums, but have found, over time, that oil paint and clay are my best friends. I have been in Prescott Az for 25 years , had my own gallery there and was the director of the 4th Friday Artwalk before moving to the valley in 2020. Starting over is daunting and exciting at the same time. I am one of the artists at the Mesa Art Center Cooperative, and am currently looking for expansion into a more centrally located gallery. My art leans in a surrealistic direction. Always involves people, figurative ....in a way. I see faces in plants, animals, landscapes, almost everywhere. According to a daughter of mine, I have pareidolia ( I had to look it up, but yes, it's true) My work is peppered throughout with humor , wordplay and sometimes cliches. I paint or sculpt everyday and sometimes in the night ... not something that is intentional, just happens. this journey is never over.
