Allison Roy

Allison Roy is a self-taught artist originally from Birmingham, Alabama, now based in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she moved in 2011 with her husband and two children. Painting and creating art for friends and family has long been her focus. Allison first explored the craft alongside her mother-in-law, who shared brushes, paints, and time to experiment with different techniques. From there, Allison honed her skills across resin, alcohol ink, and acrylic paint. Significant time spent on the beaches of the Florida panhandle and along the California coast shaped her artistic voice. The colors of the ocean inform her work in epoxy resin and heavy textured paint. Allison is known for her impasto style, painting on both wood and canvas to build dimension and movement into every piece. Allison's work has been shown at Wilde Meyer Gallery in Scottsdale and Tucson, Art One Gallery in Old Town Scottsdale, and various Pita Jungle locations throughout the Phoenix metro area, as well as in juried group exhibitions with Artlink Inc. in Phoenix.
