David Story

Hi! My name is David Story. I am an Arizona born artist who specializes in modern abstract minimalist expressionism. My paintings can be described as several deep rugged layers of scraped colors forming the base of multicolored columns which are adorned with horizontal lines to create a sense of vibration and rhythm, and excess paint marks to create a feeling of degradation and age. I intentionally paint over old failed artworks several times to create layers of tiny hidden details that allow you to stare at the art for a long time. Thematically my paintings revolve around consciousness, spirituality, life, death, rebirth, salvation, and gaining a better understanding of the divine nature of reality and metaphysics. The work is minimalist so you won’t see any real obvious subject matter, but more of a feeling or emotion tied to a state of being. I truly hope you enjoy it!
