Christy Waites

Christy Waites is a multi-talented visual artist, writer, and performer. She was born in Los Angeles, California, and has lived in various states in the North, East, and Southwest. The East Valley of the Phoenix Metropolitan area is where she has called home since 2015. Ms. Waites travels to Mexico, China, and Mongolia, and studies into her own ethnocentric background, has greatly influenced how she sees the world. This has been reflected in her visual images in painting, printmaking, mosaics, and handcrafts for over four decades. Her recent return to dramatic spoken word performances, play and screenwriting, and singing at various venues has made her a unique individual in the arts. Ms. Waites is an Educator with two degrees in Fine Arts, including Creative Writing, and currently works at Brightmont Academy. She creates in her home office, as well as studio space provided at Community43 in Phoenix where some of her art pieces are on display.
