Guided by her belief that art is a powerful storytelling medium, Liz’s work is imbued with rich narratives that foster a profound sense of belonging and connection. Her artistic practice focuses on how visual storytelling can bridge personal and collective experiences. Liz’s portfolio is a testament to her commitment to exploring and expressing the complexities of human emotion and experience. Each piece is meticulously designed to tell a story, inviting viewers into a shared space where their own experiences and identities find reflection. Liz’s dedication to collaboration is a cornerstone of her practice. She actively seeks to work with artists, designers and people from diverse backgrounds, believing that the fusion of various perspectives enhances the depth and impact of the end result. Through these collaborations, Liz seeks to amplify voices from underrepresented communities, creating art that not only tells stories but also champions inclusivity and diversity. In March 2024, Liz delivered a lecture titled “Language and Belonging” at Arizona State University’s The Design School. Her talk urged designers and artists to intentionally reconsecrate space, engage with diverse voices, and support others through their work. Drawing from her experience as a parent of a dyslexic child, Liz addressed the biases in written language, particularly for neurologically divergent individuals and those whose native languages are without a written tradition. This lecture will soon be published as an article to more widely share her thought leadership on the subject. Liz Taylor’s art practice is more than a visual experience; it is an invitation to explore and celebrate the myriad stories that shape our world. Through her practice, she continues to create spaces where art becomes a bridge to understanding, empathy, and belonging.
