About the artist
Linda Bergeron
Linda’s passion for art began at a very young age; in the Midwest, where she was born and raised. Influenced by her love of the outdoors and extensive US travel; she keenly observed distinguishing scenery by immersing in the flora, fauna, customs and cultures across the US. The unconventional process of creating intuitive imagery through art, early on, provided unfeigned solace and connection to her place in the world. While attaining her BFA in MN, studying art history abroad; she became deeply captivated with French Impressionistic artists. After careers on both coasts in travel and graphic design, she eventually settled in the Pacific Northwest. There, she completed her MACI from University of St. Thomas, painted professionally and taught art to high school students for three decades. Retirement has landed her snow birding in sunny Arizona. Although her studio is currently in Goodyear; she exhibits and sells her work in shows around the Phoenix area. Linda’s acrylic works are inspired by capturing nature’s beauty & life experiences through her photography. She paints intimate thoughts, experiences and connections with emotive imagery and fearless stamina in a dream state, disregarding preconceived notions. Engaging with color’s voice, navigating towards truth; Linda strikes balance between light/dark, subconscious/conscious, and dances on the line between ambiguity and clarity. Her impasto brush strokes, findings and translucent layers morph into compelling colors and textures until the canvas no longer yearns for attention. She capitalizes on the uncomfortable interaction of high contrast, bold textures, color, reflective materials, found objects and endless layers that deeply transcend a multitude of perspectives. The intimate dialog that emanates from these perspectives is what continually feeds her unyielding determination to paint.
