It is a barometer telling the state of the soul's weather to all who can read it." Martha Graham… I create full-size human figures that explore the human experience. They are of those special moments – the excitement of discovering a new idea, the moment when two people touch, the precarious moments of choice that will determine the future. These works are of the passion, the joy, and the wonder of being alive. I developed a unique method to create these figures from readily available industrial materials. Working with sheet brass and pipe, I transform rigid industrial materials into flowing human shapes. There is tension between the imperfect metal surface, and the organic form of a living being. The figures are set as if in motion. Through their body language, the characters speak. The words are of the hopes, passions, and imagination that is our human spirit. This is, indeed, a very fascinating drama!
