Marie Provine

Marie Provine has always made art, and more so since she ended her academic career at Arizona State University. She works in oil, pastel, watercolor on various themes often related to nature. Her work appears in local galleries, and she takes commissions. Describing herself as an impressionistic realist, Provine strives to render personality and attitude in her animal subjects and to keep light and life in all her work. She is president of the Tempe Artists Guild. In 2021, one of my watercolors was selected by the Arizona Citizens for the Arts to be awarded to a recipient at the Arizona Governor’s Arts Awards March gala. Her art was featured in the Spring 2019 edition of Emeritus Voices: The Art of Doris Marie Provine and she enjoys juried membership status within the Arizona Art Alliance. This summer she was juried into the Arizona Art Alliance’s summer exhibit: The Heat is On.
