Recently I have realized that nothing can ever keep me from painting and drawing, so I have dedicated myself to this pursuit, and hope to make the world a brighter and more vibrant place by sharing and guiding viewers of my work to the beautiful nuances which affect our subconscious. I believe that as we view art we have an opportunity to transcend the cognitive, logical, and analytical parts of our waking experience, and delve into the subconscious and innate realms of dreams and fantasy, that occupy just as much of the human experience. As I have slowly pursued the mastery of creating a visual language over the last few years, exhibiting paintings, executing murals, and displaying paintings in the fine arts scene, I am creating visual snapshots that are designed to convey the inherent connection of the material world around is with the surreal expanse of our inner experience. I create works that act as a visual and mental bridge between the known communal reality we all share, into the subtle and mysterious personal reality that is unique to each of us. My goal is to somehow unite us as sentient beings, feeling and experiencing visual maps of form, line, and color, which communicate, guide, and drive us to unify our conscious and subconscious realities into a tangible shared existence. This moment created through viewing art is personal and universal, so I create my art with the same framework… images and symbols which are universal and understood by us all, merged with imagery and movements which are deeply personal and derivative of my own subconscious reality. Hopefully, my paintings and drawings become windows and bridges we can all traverse which bring us closer to each other, the world around us, and the truth within us.
